5The BEST reference for T3i owners....and I've purchased most.
By Will Singleton
This is one of about 5 books I've purchased on the Canon Rebel T3i. This book truly stands above and beyond all the others if your new (like me) to digital SLR photography. The book explains everything very well and has pictures to back up everything for visual reference. What sets this book apart from all the others, is that you can read it without feeling like your reading the owners manual. I've learned tip and tricks specifically related to the T3i that others have left out. Do yourself a favor, stop looking for the best reference book for the Canon Rebel T3i, and buy this one. You will not be disappointed. And to the author, thank you for making the book that I needed!

5Excellent book for the new T3i owner
By James R. Holtan
Revell does an excellent job of getting you up-to-speed on the T3i.

His writing's clear, book is well-organized, and illustrations are excellent - showcasing Revell's own photography in ways that clearly illustrate the points he's making.

Revell's a professional photographer, but he takes a very down to earth approach. He clearly explains the basics of the camera - and of photography. He doesn't assume you already know basic concepts. Instead, he quickly explains things, then gets you ready to move up a level.

A very good book for quickly getting you oriented to the T3i, then moving forward to understanding and creating better photographs.

4Good book, but not for the Kindle
By Joe M.
I am giving this book a 4 star rating since I felt it was very informative. This book clearly defined each topic and contained projects at the end of each chapter to reinforce the subject matter. The reason I am not giving it a 5 star is that I bought the Kindle version which has the following issues:
1. There were many picture examples in each topic. Since some of the examples were there to show the effects items such as white balance on lighting, it was difficult or not possible at all to see the effects in grayscale on the Kindle.
2. The pictures also included comments which were very difficult to read on the Kindle screen.
3. At the end, the author mentions about going to a URL if you have the ebook version of the book. When I went to the site, it indicated that it was not valid. I confirmed that there were no typos in the URL and sent an email to the site admins The reply is shown below:

"Thank you for contacting Peachpit Press. I'm sorry, but the URL for this
title was entered by mistake. There are no lesson files available for this
book. I do apologize for the inconvenience."
