Inexpensive and Simple to Use By Mandy
This isn't the full Photoshop suite. But for what most people want to do with their photos, this is an easy to understand, user friendly little piece of software. It makes great cards and calendars and edits out red eye and wrinkles (or so I have heard, because I wouldn't know about wrinkles) quite effectively. I have used free programs and even have a paid subscription to a great online program owned by Google...Picnik.com. But this program costs less than a one year subscription and I can do virtually everything on this that I can on picnik and more.
If you want all of these features and an expanded ability to make different photo presentations for weddings or family reunions, you might want to check out the Media Expressions Platinum. It is a few bucks more, but has most of these features and quite a bit more. However, if all you want to do is get rid of red eyes and the wrinkles from all of your friends in your photos (because we have none) and maybe make some personalized cards or gifts, this is an excellent product for very little $$.

A basic suite with basic capabilities By Wayne
Many users will not need to spend hundreds of dollars on complex software for managing photos. The learning curve on Adobe Photoshop CS5 would be so steep that a novice user would get lost.With Photo Expressions, the company boasts of an Easy to use interface with a friendly design. That's partly true, but subjective. For example, I find it awkward to take my hand off the mouse or use drop down menus every time I cut, copy or paste. I'd rather use the CUA standard shortcut keys that virtually every software product supports. Years ago, the company told me that the lack of such features is not a bug, and they never claim to conform to industry standards. Issues like this might be irrelevant to most users, but I'd personally prefer software that's more standardized.
There are many products that will allow you to do basic editing and slideshow creation under Windows. For example, Google will give you Picasa for free and I find it more powerful and intuitive for the editing tasks. Other slide show software, including the one built into Windows 7, gives me what I need for that.
This product also aids you in making calendars and scrap books. If you have a Canon inkjet printer, for example, you get free software for doing those tasks. But this product will do a far better job. It's also easy to use for those endeavors. If you anticipate doing these tasks on a one time basis, you might skip this product, but check the price first. Even for one full blown 12 page calendar, this feature might be worth its price alone.
The capabilities I mentioned also carry over into greeting cards, where this product has the edge over bundled or free competitors. Panoramas, CD labels and prints can often be done as well or better with software bundled with your printer or with CD labels. The software I use for printing individual photos is tied to the capabilities of my printer, and does a better job. It even supports inkjet printable CD/DVDs, which this package apparently does not.
Although I personally find parts of this package awkward, other users might find it straightforward and easy to work with. Although the product provides a mixture of weak components and ones that outshine ones you can acquire easily, you may be able to find it at a price that still justifies its purchase. I don't think this warrants a high rating overall, but you might think of the software as a package that contains its top three features, with the others bundled as extras, and a good price might make you overlook its resulting lack of breath.

There needs to be MUCH more... By Colt S. Kline
The best that I can say about this programme, is the functionality of the label maker. The label maker is great with many templates to choose from based on the labels that you want to print on. What's missing on the label maker is the Lightscribe feature. For that, I have emailed Arcsoft and suggested that Lightscribe be added as a programme update.
The rest of the programme is a miniature version of "The Print Shop", which is much more inclusive. All features and templates of Greeting Cards, Scrapbooks, and Calanders are extremely lacking. This is clearly not a Platinum version. More like a shareware version with minimal features.
There's no printed documentation nor PDF documentation included. Only basic features that is printed on the box.
